INFANTS
(36 minute class)

In our classes, Infants develop gross motor skills. They reach out and grasp for their little instruments. They can hold and tap a mallet and love shaking maracas and tambourines. While the children are having fun playing along with the music, they are rapidly improving their hand-eye coordination.

Music stimulates vocal production. Babies "sing" along with the teacher, cooing and babbling as they explore their voice.

Music also produces a physical reaction from the child. Infants rock to the beat, dance, clap, and wave their hands. In our class, babies are encouraged to practice rolling over, crawling, pulling themselves up, and using their arms and legs in a variety of ways. (Some even start walking!)

Interactive creative play between the parent and child at this age is essential in establishing a nurturing learning relationship. Our infants class aims to help develop this relationship.
ONES
(40 minute class)

Ones enjoy producing sounds in as many ways as possible. Some of their favorites ways are shaking maracas, tapping wavedrums, blowing into their recorders, and strumming guitars.

Ones also love singing, babbling, and talking in response to the music. They begin to recognize their favorite songs and dance to the rhythm.

Working together with their classmates, Ones practice sharing, taking turns, and cleaning up.

Music helps children to understand concepts such as high and low, loud and soft, slow and fast, and stop and go.

In our Ones classes, children begin to develop friendships with their classmates while playing and dancing together.
TWOS
(40 minute class)

At this age, children can produce sounds on a wide variety of instruments. They enjoy tambourines, tapping bongo drums, strumming guitars, and bowing violins. They also love playing recorders, harmonicas, and kazoos.

Twos begin to sing along with their favorite songs and dance in response to the music.

In our Twos classes, children develop fine motor skills through activities such as plucking guitar strings, snapping castanets, and playing the violin and keyboard.

Math skills are acquired by playing to particular rhythms and counting to the beat of the music.

One of the greatest benefits of our class at this age is the experience interacting in a supportive classroom environment with their peers. They are encouraged to work together as a group by sharing, taking turns, cleaning up together, and learning to resolve differences.
THREES
(40 minute class)

Threes remember the words to their favorite songs and love to sing along with their teacher.

Fine motor skills are developed through activities such as plucking guitar strings, moving fingers over holes on a recorder to manipulate the sound, bowing the violin and playing the keyboard.

By teaching the children to play particular rhythm patterns and to count along with the music, math skills are acquired in an enjoyable, creative manner.

Threes now have a complete understanding of high and low (physically and musically), loud and soft (“forte” and “piano“), slow and fast, stop and go (or “play” and “rest”, musically) and enjoy practicing their skills together in class.
FOUR/FIVES
(40 minute class)

Four/Fives can name most of the instruments of the orchestra and easily recognize passages from well-known Classical pieces.

Four/Fives can produce music in a wide variety of forms, from bowing legato on the violin to buzzing their lips to play the French Horn.

Four/Fives learn how to read music and play short songs together as a class on the keyboards, xylophones, and recorders.

Socially, our class boosts a child’s confidence and helps children learn to become an active member of their class. The child’s emersion within their class allows he or she to become at ease with group dynamics, such as sharing, taking turns, and resolving conflict. This is highly beneficial for future educational endeavors.
