(Creative Arts Preschool Alternative Program)
Preschool STARs is TLB Music's creative arts preschool alternative program!
Our Preschool STARs program is designed for children 2 - 3 years old. This drop-off program is perfect for introducing separation and preparing children for half and full day programs. The class meets for 2 hours, 2 or 3 times a week. This is the ideal amount of time for children this age, allowing kids to get accustomed to school routine and independent learning! We believe that children learn best when they are having fun so we follow a play-based teaching philosophy that gently introduces a structured routine and helps instill a life-long love of learning. A low teacher-child ratio (1:4.5) ensures individualized attention and support for each student!
Our curriculum includes music, art, active games, storytime, child-directed play and fun weekly themes like "books & reading", "one, two, three: count with me", "music masters", "letter land" and "planes, trains & automobiles".

What does the STAR in Preschool STARs stand for?
Our program is designed to prepare children for school readiness. We work on adjusting children to separation, helping them gain confidence on their own so they can transition seamlessly into longer programs! Our original curriculum prepares 2-year-olds for 3 and 4-year-old year old programs by fostering age-appropriate social, creative, intellectual, emotional and physical growth.
Children practice important classroom skills like sharing, taking turns, working together, resolving conflict and getting to know new classmates.
We hope to cultivate a love of the creative arts in all our students. Our curriculum includes an enriching art and music class every week.
Kids love working on pre-literacy skills with the letter of the day, word of the day and story of the day.
Our mission is to provide a nurturing, developmentally-appropriate environment in which we can foster children's social, creative, intellectual, emotional and physical growth in preparation for school readiness. Our play-based teaching philosophy gently introduces a structured routine and helps instill a life-long love of learning.

Preschool STARs Parent Testimonials:
Our son has been taking music classes at TLB since he was ten months old, and we were searching for a light separation 2's program so we were delighted when STARs was created. From the past year, our kitchen is covered in unique art projects and we are always humming songs from STARs such as "Tops and Bottoms" (hand washing song). We loved getting teacher feedback on the good days as well as the tougher two year old days. We got to spend more time with the teachers when visiting the playroom and they'd make the students feel so welcome and important! One of our favorite aspects was celebrating every little holiday with music and crafts. As a stay at home mom, STARs helped build comfortable separation that is essential for growth. We wanted our son to understand there are other people in charge besides mom and dad and to learn the value of teachers, learning new skills and making new friends. Because of STARs, preschool interviews went smoothly as he wasn't scared to leave my side or play with new teachers/students. Our son talks excitedly about his new school and feels ready.

TLB's STARs offered a concise 2 hour program with nursery school-like programming. Manipulatives setup upon arrival, circle time, songs, and snack time. It mimicked what a school is like, but even better since there were themes for each week! It was easy to transition for separation at age 2.4 in a space my son was already comfortable going to because of the classes and playroom! The staff and teachers at TLB are so warm and welcoming. They made it "no big deal" for me to leave. I had the harder time watching my baby separate FROM me!
Abe loved everything about the STARs program. I loved how music and instruments were incorporated into the weekly themed programming. I loved the comfort in knowing my child was in a safe, happy environment lending itself to learn and giving him a great classroom experience - a strong foundation from which he will grow!

By the end of my child's first year, before turning 3, she knew all her colors and was able to count to ten! She also knew her shapes which I didn't know until we were in the Fort Lauderdale airport and she kept screaming about triangles (they are all over the walls). That's pretty amazing for a child who has not even turned 3. And her love of music is beautiful. She walks around singing songs all the time.
As any parent, you want your child to be happy. I knew Mary was always happy to go to pre school and see all her friends. Learning should be fun, and the teachers there achieve that. I can't thank them enough. Mary loved all the friends she made and the teachers. We have not been there in a few months and she still mentions the teachers and students by name and wants to go see them.

TLB Preschool STARs has been the most wonderful and productive program for our daughter. We have seen such a change in her confidence around other children and adults as well as in her ability to do something on her own without mom or dad. The STARs curriculum is so carefully constructed, and I am beyond impressed by the genuine care and attention that goes into each weeks themes and activities. The teachers do an amazing job of creating a fun, safe and educational environment that Beau can't wait to be a part of each week!
I could not recommend STARs more highly and can assure you it will be one of the best investments you make in your child's early education. Beau will head off to preschool with such a leg up having had this great experience!
